Most of us who have used a Windows PC know what a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) is. Well, there could be no more perfect timing for a BSOD than this. We've known for some time that Microsoft was working hard at getting Windows XP slimmed down and running on the One Laptop Per Child (OLPC) XO-1. They've apparently succeeded as on Thursday Microsoft and the OLPC Foundation announced an agreement that will make Windows XP available on XO laptops.
The U.K. wants to get the last 1/3 of its citizens online, and that's clear from the National Digital Inclusion Conference currently being held in London. As part of that movement, Microsoft U.K. is working on a so-called "Senior PC" which will feature a simplified user interface.

The Wine project is scheduled for its 1.0 release, after nearly 15 years of development. In fact, according to their "release plan" they are trying to release it close to the 15th anniversary date.
